One from the archives...

Today, my Dad surprised me by emailing me a pic.  I haven't seen this pic in many years, but I thought it would be worth sharing (even if it is always slightly embarrassing to share one's childhood photos!).

My Auntie Jude (mentioned way back in my first post - who gave me her study books when she was finished with them), came over from Adelaide in her shiny new RX-7 and visited us in the Latrobe Valley.  While she was there, she teed up a lesson in the local aero club's 172.  Up until then, she had only flown low winged aircraft and I remember clearly her telling us with great enthusiasm how much more one can see when one is under the large expanse of wing!

So, this pic is of Auntie Jude, my sister Yvette standing in the foreground and in the right hand seat.  Yep, you guessed it... An aviation tragic from a very early age!  That's how long I have been harbouring this interest in flying machines!  Little did I know it wouldn't be for another 20-odd years before I'd see my dreams come to reality.

Still... It was worth the wait!
